Academic integrity: what we do, what we refuse to do, and how to use AHD properly

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Assignment Help Desk is an academic productivity tool. It is designed to help you understand assignments, research properly, write better, cite correctly, and check your own work. It is not designed to produce work for you to submit as entirely your own, and it is not designed to evade academic integrity systems.

What our tools are for

  • Extracting and explaining what an assignment requires.
  • Planning and outlining.
  • Finding and organizing real academic sources.
  • Drafting sections from your outline and sources, as a starting point you then edit and own.
  • Formatting citations and references correctly.
  • Reviewing your draft against your rubric and for writing quality.
  • Checking similarity against sources so you can quote and cite correctly.
  • Studying: guides, flashcards, quizzes, practice exams, and study plans.

What we deliberately do not build

  • Tools that rewrite text to evade AI-detection systems (“humanizers,” “invisible-to-detectors” modes).
  • Guarantees that any text will pass any detector or plagiarism system.
  • Fabricated sources or citations.
  • Ghostwriting, purchased essays, or impersonation of students.
  • Scraped or resold copyrighted exam papers.

How our product enforces this

  • Sections of an assignment that require your own analysis, reflection, or position are marked as student-input sections. The drafting tool refuses to generate them, and export is blocked until they contain your own writing.
  • Every citation must reference a real source found through an academic database or entered with a verifiable identifier. Where the tool cannot support a claim, it marks “source needed” instead of inventing a reference.
  • Similarity Check reports what it scanned and what it did not. It never issues a “human-written” verdict.
  • You can export an AI assistance log listing what help you used on an assignment, for disclosure where your institution requires it.

Your responsibility

Your institution’s rules govern what help is allowed. Many now permit AI assistance with disclosure; some restrict it; some prohibit it for certain tasks. Read your course policy. If in doubt, ask your instructor and disclose. Do not submit AI-drafted text as your own unedited work.
