Assignment Help Desk (DesignsOcean) (“we”) operates assignmenthelpdesk.com and app.assignmenthelpdesk.com. This policy explains what we collect and why.
1. What we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), education level, subjects, and an optional writing sample you choose to provide.
- Content you upload or create: assignment files, extracted requirements, drafts, sources, notes, study sets, solve history, exports.
- Usage data: features used, credits spent, AI operations (task type, provider, tokens, cost), timestamps, device and browser type, IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention).
- Billing data: plan, purchases, transaction identifiers from our payment partner. We do not store card numbers.
- Public tool usage on the website: IP-based daily quota counters and the text you submit to a tool for processing.
2. Why we use it
To provide the Service; to process your content with AI providers; to run similarity checks against your own sources and open-access material; to enforce limits and prevent abuse; to bill you; to send service emails (verification, receipts, deadline reminders you enable); to improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying statistics.
3. AI processing
Your content is sent to AI providers (currently Google Gemini and Groq; we may add or change providers) to generate outputs. We select providers whose terms do not permit training on our API data. We do not use your assignment content to train models.
4. Who else processes your data
Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), our AI providers, our payment partner (merchant of record), our email provider, our hosting provider, analytics (Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization). Academic source searches are sent to OpenAlex, Crossref, Semantic Scholar, CORE, and Unpaywall as search queries, without your identity.
5. Retention
Account and content data: for as long as your account exists. Deleted accounts: content removed within 30 days; billing records kept as required by tax law. Public tool submissions: processed and discarded; quota counters expire daily. AI usage logs: 12 months, without your content.
6. Your rights
Access, correct, export, or delete your data from Settings, or by emailing info@assignmenthelpdesk.com. If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection law, you also have the right to object, restrict, and complain to your supervisory authority. We respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
Essential cookies for login and security; analytics cookies only with consent where required. No advertising cookies.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and accounts require users to be at least 16. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Encrypted in transit and at rest, row-level access control, signed download links, audit logs. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
10. International transfers
Our processors operate in multiple regions, including the United States and Singapore. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
11. Changes
We will notify account holders of material changes by email or in-app notice.
